St. Paul impound fees

Data last checked Jul 8, 2026. Every figure cites the city's own source; the lot calculates your final balance.

Quick estimate: standard St. Paul city tow

Standard tow
$225.24
Storage, each additional day (1 day)
$15
Published charges so far
$240.24

Not included, because the city publishes no fixed figure: administration costs and sales tax, plus any unpaid tickets, special equipment charges, and (in some cities) administration costs and sales tax. The lot calculates the final balance; call before you go.

The city notes tow pricing may be higher depending on the type of tow service required, and every towed vehicle is also assessed administration costs and sales tax.

$225.24per tow

Snow emergency tow

The city's 2026 impound flyer lists $275.08; the city web page lists $246.00 or more. We show both because the city's own sources disagree.

Administration costs and sales tax

The city's impound FAQ says every towed vehicle is assessed towing fees, administration costs, daily storage, and sales tax, but publishes no administration figure. We do not guess; call 651-266-5642 for your exact balance.

Private-property tow (business or apartment lot)

  • Maximum private-tow fee

    not published

St. Paul licenses private-property tow operators (Leg. Code ch. 361) and requires each to file its own fee schedule with the Department of Safety and Inspections, but publishes no citywide maximum and does not post the filed schedules. The filed schedules are on our Data Practices Act request. Until then: ask the tower for its filed schedule, and know the general Minnesota rules still apply.

What St. Paul does and does not publish

The city publishes its police impound lot fees. It publishes NO maximum for private-property tows: licensed tow operators file their own fee schedules with the Department of Safety and Inspections (Leg. Code ch. 361), but the filed schedules and the licensed operator list are not published. Both are on the MGDPA request.
