Minneapolis impound fees
Data last checked Jul 8, 2026. Every figure cites the city's own source; the lot calculates your final balance.
Quick estimate: standard Minneapolis city tow
- Standard tow charge
- $222
- Daily storage (1 day)
- $18
- Published charges so far

Not included, because the city publishes no fixed figure: any unpaid tickets, special equipment charges, and (in some cities) administration costs and sales tax. The lot calculates the final balance; call before you go.

What Minneapolis does and does not publish
The city publishes its impound lot fees and a maximum private-tow fee schedule (Code ch. 349.270). It does NOT publish a central list of licensed private tow companies or private impound lots; that list is on the MGDPA request. Lots that tow must post their fees at each entrance (Code ch. 319) and may not charge more than posted.
